So my step father is handing off my resume to a good friend of his who has been at his place of work for quite some time. He is upper-management level, and in discussion with my step father has said he would get it to those who may have a possible position for me.
My question is this. How do you start a cover letter to a person you don't know, for a position you don't know anything about (of if there are any avail for that matter)? The purpose is just to give the guy a run down of my skills and experience, nothing overly formal.
My step father was also told by his friend to have me embellish "as much as I can" on the letter. So I could use some advice on that, as I obviously don't want to misrepresent myself.
TIA!
