Need help with sound problem!!

All of a sudden I can't get any sound when I stream mp3's over lan. The mp3 seems to play fine but without any sound at all, weird! mp3's or any other multimedia file that are in my hd plays fine and has sound. I'm using windows media player 8.
 
What sound card, have you messed with the drivers? Did someone change some volume setting? Try completely reinstalling your sound if you can't figure it out.
 
I found out I don't have system sounds either, and a re-install didn't help.

mp3 from lan server = play's but no sound
windows system sounds = play's but no sound
stream from internet (vh1 radio) = no problem
files from hd (mp3, wav, etc..) = no problem

Strange... 😕
