Need help with something in Win98 SE...

I downloaded a .mov file, and it asked me to select a program to open it, so I selected Windows Media Player. It wouldn't open it up, because it was a Quicktime file (duh).

Now whenever I download a .mov, it saves as a Windows media file, and not as a QT file. The only way to view it is to open QT, and open the file up through QT that way, which is really annoying.

What should I do to fix this? I think uninstalling and then reinstalling QT would do the trick, right? Because QT would detect any .mov files and automatically convert them to the QT format.

If there are any other ways to fix this please let me know, in case this happens again with a different kind of file.

Thanks!

<< in QT check in edit>pref>QT prefs
i tink theres a way you can change/add files to view...

I will try that..thank you!

Or you can go to one of the .mov files and hold down the shift key while right clicking on it, then select open with and set it to always open with quicktime.
