need help with setup for sidewinder 3d pro/precision pro

i want to use this stick in analog mode. i plan on connecting it to a ch-products pro throttle. their documentation says i can do it if i use the analog mode. i've tried to setup the controller as an analog stick. the flightstick pro, and every other combination too but no joy (pun intended) i really wish i knew how to marry these two together because i'd have a rudder on the stick and save a wad of dough to boot. i sure would appreciate any help.
