OK So i have an iPaq 3955 with built-in SD slot. I want to have some more storage space for videos, music, and such for playback on my handheld. My friend gave me a 32MB card for Christmas. To write to the card i have to put it in my iPaq then browse to the card through My Device in Explorer. To write a file to the ipaq or the card takes forever.
Recently I was taking pictures off my compactflash card from a digital camera. I have a little hub/reader thing that goes right into the USB port and its really fast.
So I thought I should get a CF expansion for the iPaq and maybe like a 256MB CF card.
However this adds substantial thickness to the device!
So on eBay im looking at 256MB SD cards, as well as SD card readers. If i wrote files to the card using a reader, will I see the same type speed as with the CF? I mean, my current way of doing things, it takes a good 5+ minutes to write a 20MB or so file to the card. So it should pick up if im just writing direct to the card, yea?
Other question: i have nforce2 which is USB2.0 equipped. I saw some USB2 SD readers listed. I wont see any performance out of that compared to a standard 1.1 would I?
thanks!
