I am trying to run an ImageMate CompactFlash USB reader (SDDR-31) on a Windows ME machine. When installing it I get a blue screen message with the code OE:0028:315F5F5F and telling me that Cmdninst has caused an error in USER.EXE. I went to SanDisk's website and found a FAQ about Adaptec EZ CD Creater 4.0. I had Adaptec EZ CD Creator 4.02S prior to installing the reader. As instructed, I went
to Roxio's website and updated the version for EZ CD Creator (to 4.03), and downloaded and ran the REN_APIX.BAT file. I still get the same message on my screen. I've also updated DirectCD in hopes of fixing the problem but to no avail. The reader works fine on a Windows 98 machine without EZCD, but I can't get it to work on this one. The system crashes if the reader is plugged in when Windows loads, and also if it is plugged in while Windows is running.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
