Need help with RepartEE Linux

Every Linux variant I have ever used, you would set the timezone in
/etc/default/init
or
/etc/TIMEZONE


neither of these exist in my repartEE voicemail linux.

does anyone know how else I can set my timezone correctly??

Im not sure, this is 3 year old voicemail system we bought from Black Box.

how do i find out what distro its based off of?
