My workplace has a firewall in place that prevents me from connecting to my home pc the normal way , i usually use Pingfu or Hamachi to connect but it lags to no end.
Recently i started experimenting with openssh and superproxy. I installed them on my home PC (running win7) but the openssh service wouldn't start.
So.. i'm thinking of installing it on my sister's computer (Win XP Home, assuming openssh has compatibility problems with win 7) then directing traffic to my PC. I will use putty to create a SSH connection to my home PC , then direct traffic with proxycap.
Basically it will be like this:
Work PC -> Putty -> proxycap -> sister's PC -> Home PC.
As this happens within my country (whereas with pingfu i will be connecting to the US first then my country, singapore) , i assume the connection will be more stable and relatively faster.
Would i encounter any problems with this config? Are there other better alternatives? Logmein is a slideshow for me , i find it unusable as compared to pingfu.
I am horrible at networking stuff so any help would be appreciated.
