Need help with RAM Timings

I recently purchaced a gig (2x512) of Corsair XMS ram for my new build rated at 2-3-3-6. However when look up the ram info in my asus A8R-MVP bios the timings are at 3-5-5-8 with a 2T timing instead of 1T. When I attempt to change these manually the computer boots, runs for a while then crashes. Any help?

Try useing different ram timing profiles rather than changing the individual timings manually. Ex. Optimal, Turbo, etc.

I'm not sure if your board has that option, but it might.

You might want to check your voltage. Corsair usually recommends 2.7 or higher on those modules, although people run them lower. Just depends on your system. For me 2.7 seems to be the sweet spot.
