need help with promise ultra 33 controller card

i am trying to get one to work for my cd-rom burner but am getting blue screen then reboot everytime windows loads with it in system. i have the burner set as master and hooked to ide 1 on card. windows installs the drivers then reboots but that is as far as it gets, blue screen on reboot. it says when booting that the ultra 33 bios is not loaded, what does that mean? system not seeing card? thanx for any help.
 
Had the same thing happen. Emailed Promise, but got no reply. Also got the same message at boot with a Promise Ultra66, but the card seemed to work OK.

bub, i have sent you email of solution to my problem and hopefully yours. i called promise and they fixed it for me. needed beta driver for WinME
