Any help please Just put together a new system using the Dragon plus mobo and 2 maxtor 40gig drives in Raid0.

When trying to install the OS, I hit the F6 key to load the promise drivers and nothing happens. I get a screen after loading more files that tells me "devices found" NONE and says to press S for manufacturer disk install. I press S and moves to the screen for insert disk in drive A: for driver install. It starts loading from drive A: and gives me the choice of Promise FastTrack Lite for Windows 2000. I select it hit enter and then I get an error message that says "fasttrack.sys has error" and will not load the promise fasttrack drivers for my raid0 setup.

This is my first time for a Raid0 setup. Loaded Win2K 7,462,398 times but always without a Raid configuration. Just kidding - trying to make lite of a very frustrated miffed off situation. :)

I have the BIOS set to boot sequence 1-cdrom 2-scsi and promise controller enabled. I did set up the promise as performance/desktop and when I boot I get the drive 1* promise screen showing the two 40gig maxtors as a 73gig single drive ?????

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

edit: Also, have already flashed to the kvxa2ba BIOS.

have you tried downloading a new set of drivers from promise just in case, as windows is suggesting, one of your present files is corrupt/damaged!

Yes - I have tried 3 different disks with promise files. From download at Soyo website and from the install cd. Even tried to load without the F6 key to win locate. No go.

Make sure your driver floppy has this directory structure:

in a:\
fasttrak
txtsetup.oem

in a:\win2000\
evian.sys
fasttrak.cat
fasttrak.inf
fasttrak.sys

If you put the second group of 4 files in the root of the floppy you get an error, so make sure they're in their own "Win2000" folder.

That was it. I was putting the files all on A: with no sub directories.
WinXP install went perfect without any problems.

Thank You for your help!!!!
