Need help with promedia subs

Need some help from someone with some audio/promedia knowledge. I have some Klipsch Promedia V2 400's and the 6.5" subwoofers have blown (foam ring damage). I was looking for some suitable replacements but haven't been able to find info on the web concerning this, most issues have been amp/control pod related. I'm just assuming I need 8ohm rather than 4ohm subs. Do these look suitable or maybe something else?

It really doesn't work that way. All speakers (drivers) have what is called thiele small parameters that determine the volume of cabinet you will need for proper performance.

If the Promedias are sealed you can probably find a woofer that will work in volume, if they are ported there are just too many variables.

If you want to make it a project you could build a new sub using the Klipsch plate amp.

You'd probably have better luck perusing ebay for a replacement sub. It's a very common problem for the amp to go bad or have problems, so you might find a sub with a non-functional amp for very little money. As long as your amp works, then you should be good.

I just found the following post on the Klipsch forums:

Hey - I have a Klipsch Promedia v2-400 subwoffer unit available if you want it. It works fine. I do not have the rest of the system anymore just the subwoffer unit. Let me knwo if you are interested. my email is: a2c2@comcast.net

It was posted a year ago, but it's possible that he still has the sub.
