need help with problem paper...

Should the government continue to mandate features for manufacturers even though it drives up the price?

Could cars be designed to be fixed more easily by owners, or are they purposely designed so complex that only a dealer can service them?

Are the benefits of hybrid cars overhyped?

That's some good suggestions...

I was thinking along the lines of maybe: With technologies developing to make driving easier, does it have a bad effect on people because they are so dependent on the technologies and are they not facing up to their responsibilities because of the technology. (sorry couldn't word that better)

I'd like a few more suggestions from ATOT, thanks guys.

Yes, you could easily find enough information to write a book about hybrids - gasoline/fuel concerns, pollution concerns, etc,.

but would that go offtopic about my topic: automotive technology?

but first i need to write a problem paper that causes controversy

How about, why did GM think it was ok to make intake manifold plenums out of plastic, knowing full well it will sit on top of an engine running at 180 degrees? Thanks for the blown head gasket on a 5 year old car with 60,000 miles GM 🙁

The horsepower race and what companies are doing to come out on top.

The drive from some manufacturers to get suppliers to deliver lower-cost good no matter the consequences.

The limits of technology and gas mileage. People don't understand why a 2.4L CR-V and a 5.7L Corvette get about the same highway mileage. It's physics. They want their cars to be lifted up off the ground for perceived safety and the view, but they want the laws of physics to be overturned and get good gas mileage too. If I had a nickel for every comment I've seen about small SUVs that says gets poor gas mileage for such a small engine, I'd be rich.

Should the government force GM to release the 75mpg carbeuretor?

Fuel efficiency vs. safety - or why I have a right to drive my kids to school in a 5mpg oversized SUV

There is a front page blurb in the WSJ today about how Ford is going to reduce the number of suppliers in order to save billions of dollars...
