Need Help With Printer

I have 3 computers and my Xbox 360 on my network. My Printer (HP Officejet 6110) is hooked up to my Windows-based PC. I am trying to get my iMac to see and accept my printer as the default printer (network printer). I am running XP Home with Norton Internet Security running. My other Windows-based PC can see the printer, but not my iMac G5 running Mac OS X Tiger. Thanks.

I'm not a MAC expert but did you try to type the address of the printer and not let the MAC find it?

Here's the situation, when the printer is hooked to the imac, i can see the printer, but it will not allow me to install the drives, something about it not being compatible. When my printer is hooked up to the windows-pc, i cannot see it on the mac. I want the mac to be able to see it because i want my printer to be hooked to my pc.

You could always get a USB Print server.

Basically you plug the printer into the USB port on the print server and then connect the print server via the RJ45 jack or Wirelessly to your LAN. That way it is platform independent. I've used this with HP 6110 printers before so they are definitely compatible.

Here is the model number of the USB Print Server we use:

WPS54G it is by Linksys.

A Print server would be a good ideal though as it would allow you to print from your PC or Mac at anytime as the print server would always be "on", where as if you had the printer attached to the PC or Mac you would have to make sure that the computer with the printer attached was on all the time.
