Me and at least two other people have encountered a problem where Prime95 will crash on exponent M420217 when using a 20K FFT. This is easily reproduceable by choosing the custom option in the torture test and setting the minimum and maximum FFT size to 20K. When the testing hits M420217 then Prime95 crashes. The three of us that are having this problem all have ASUS P4C800E boards and 1GB of ram (2x512MB). Our other hardware isn't similiar (different processor speeds, video cards, etc.)
This only occurs with the latest version of Prime95 (v.23.7). I tried 23.6 and it works just fine. Also, if I alter the custom memory setting from its default value of 926MB then the problem will not occur. I tried 800MB, 925MB, and 927MB and it runs just fine.
I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting this problem with a different motherboard and that version of Prime95. We are trying to determine if its an Asus bug or a Prime95 bug.
If anyone else can try this it would be greatly appreciated. You just need to have a P4C, 875P chipset and 2x512MB of ram.
