Welcome to AT.

You'd probably be better off with a 74gb raptor than raiding two 36gb drives. Maybe even skip raptor all together and get yourself another fast high capacity drive.

The benq 1640 looks like the DVD burner to get at the moment

Are you sure you need those SATA cables? Check the pictures at newegg, your board may come with some cables already.

You could spend around $100 on a PSU rather than $210 and still have a very solid PSU.

you would be better off with an amd X2 4400+ imo. I would also get the Zalman9500 cooler instead of the 7700.

Why would I be better with the 4400+? reason I ask is it is about 200 bucks more, and i'm primarily using this pc for gaming..not multi-tasking.

as far as the 10k rpm hd's, do you think its overkill to get these and raid-0 them? better to get two 250gig hd's and raid-0 them?

The benq dvd burning wasnt that impressive when I looked at it. Not many people have bought it on newegg and rated it, and it doesnt have the best rating even with the few people that have rated it... any inspiring words toward that product to make me go in that direction?

as far as the PSU for 100 instead of the OCZ I listed, what would you suggest?

Thanks a lot on the sata cables too, i'll look into that.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm looking to buy very soon, so any other words of advice would help a lot!

If you have the money to spend on a PC this well equiped than I would say you have made good choices. Personally I think the Raptors are a near waste, I would buy a single large drive and be done with it, but in this system it isn't like you had to sacrifice from one area to afford another. I would look to reduce the overall budget by about $1000, but then again, I can't even afford a $1500 PC, so I'm sure you will be very happy.

Thanks a lot,

It's really not my intention to spend a "lot" of money, but my interest is mainly in being able to play any 3d fps out there with graphics cranked up(like battlefield 2)

With that in mind, are the raptors a waste? I mean If I can just use the 250gig seagate drive and everything will run smoothly at max capacity then great, but if I need them then i'll get them..

How about the monitor I listed? i've read great reviews on it.. any one out there use it personally? notice any ghosting?

I'm VERY close to buying this system, I just want to ask you experts what you think.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I'd pick the Antec P180 over the Lian Li case especially if your power supply is thermally controlled. The Antec is really good at keeping the PSU quiet because of the lower ambient temperature.

I would ditch the raptors and get a larger SATA drive with NCQ. You're not likely to notice a performance difference.

Thanks for the great advice! I will look at some lower power supplies then.

That would definately save me money if you think it would not have an effect on FPS gaming.

Please, keep the comments rolling! I want to buy on monday!

1. Replace the PSU with this.
2. Replace the CPU with this.
3. Replace the Raptors with this.
4. Replace the 7800GTX with this.
5. Replace the 7700-Cu with this.

That's it. Do that and you're all set. :) And you save some money.

thanks a lot guys,

Question though,

I've always loved BFG for the graphics cards.. I own two others of theirs now.. Is eVGA better then BFG? And if you think so, why?

You like the P180 eh Fyleow? I've always been a lian-li fan.. is there that much of a difference in noise? Rubber padding for the HDD is a great idea, will look into that for sure.

Seasonic looks to be the way to go for the PSU, i'll get that.

How about the monitor I listed? any input on that? good LCD overall to you guys?
