Ok I've ditched Norton Ghost for Partition Magic 8.0 because I'm told it's much better for cloning.

I just want to clone my current 60GB drive to my new 200GB drive and use that for boot drive.

Seems like I've got the process down, but I'm not exactly sure how to activate the new drive as the boot drive. Here's what I'm thinking.

Setup PM to copy old C: to new drive, reboot to do the copying, then get back into Windows to verify all data has copied over correctly.

Then use PQBoot tool to set new drive to Active partition, and old drive as hidden partition. Shutdown, switch jumper on new drive to master and jumper on old drive to slave. Reboot and hopefully thats how it's done? Help

Also, will the PM recovery disks let me set the old drive back to active partition if I jack somethin up?

You don't use Partition Magic for cloning. It's for creating, deleteing, modifying, resizing partitions. I was not aware there was any ability to do cloning in PM nor would I even consider using it. After what you described Ghost is so much simpler and reliable.

If you don't like Ghost use whatever application came with your new drive (assuming it was retail). You can also download a cloning application from the drive manufacturer's web site.

However Ghost (2003 version not the new one) is the ideal drive cloning tool. I'm an IT tech and Ghost is my friend.
