Need help with OS install on new dual processor rig

I have the following hardware:

Asus A7M266-D mobo
2 x Athlon MP2000+
3 x 512 MB Mushkin PC2100
Promise FastTrak100 TX4 IDE Raid card
2 x Seagate 80 GB Hard drive in a Mirror (OS is going to be installed on these)
1 x Maxtor 20 GB Hard drive for page file and scratch disk
ATI AIW Radeon8500DV
SIIG firewire/USB2.0 combo card
Netgear FA311 NIC
Liteon 16x/40x DVD
HP DVD200i DVD +R/RW

I have built one other machine with this board before but not with dual processors. When loading 2000 Pro, I get the following error:

File \i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded.
The error code is 4

Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.

I know it is crashing when it tries to load the multiprocessor kernel, but what can I do to get past this? Should I take one of the processors out and manually install it after I get the OS loaded?

Thanks for the help!

Hit F5 when setup first starts (when it says "press f6 to install a SCSI driver") and pick "ACPI Uniprocessor PC". This will prevent it from installing an SMP HAL.

I got the #*!@? thing working!

The A7M266-D will not work with more than 1 GB of RAM, unless you use 2 single density sticks of RAM and 1 double density stick of RAM.

I am trying to get through to ASUS tech support at the California campus to see if there is going to be a BIOS revision that addresses this as the boards specs clearly state that you can run 2 GB of unregistered RAM on this board.

Thanks to Electrode for the help!
