Need help with onboard sound on ECS GEFORCE7050M-M

I picked up an ECS Geforce7050M-M (Socket AM2) motherboard in one of those Fry's combos a few days ago. This board has an onboard Realtek ALC662 sound chip.

After installing Windows XP (32-bit) SP2, I can't seem to get the onboard sound to work. I used CD that came with the motherboard which auto-installed all the chipset, video, lan, audio, etc. drivers; but in control panel the onboard sound shows up as a (unknown) PCI Device [I know it is the onboard sound, because if I go into the bios and disable the onboard sound, the PCI Device goes away]. I then downloaded the latest sound driver from this board from the ECS website (ALC880.zip), installed it, rebooted, but the onboard sound is still unrecognized (unknown PCI Device in control panel). Windows shows no sound devices present.

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I have a defective board, or if its just some wierd driver/installation issue. I'm sure other people have bought this board before and have used it?!

Any help would be appreciated. Probably the last time I buy an ECS board (the deal was too good to pass up though).

I have the same board.
Crunching SOB with it.

I havent tried loading the sound drivers yet but I will tomorrow and report back what I find.
