Hi
I didn't visited this site for over a year because everything was running smooth and I was busy enjoying my system
yesterday I decided to update the bios and install new windows MCE (before I had XP).
I updated bios no problem, then set all my settings just like before (very stable oc). Then installed the windows (used the newest F6 raid drivers) when windows was done I used windows wupdate to get all the fixes available. Then drivers, here is what I might have done wrong. I installed the newest nforce4 amd drivers from nvidia site (6.70 i believe) and the newest forceware driver for windows XP (for MCE was way older). the all the progs I use etc etc. just to make sure everything was stable I ran prime95, 3dmark 2001, and ntune stability test. Everything no problem. Then in the middle of browsing I got BLUE SCREEN
then in the last 10min I got also blue screen (probably the same) I send the report to microsoft and it told me that it was caused by the driver. Info
Error type : Windows stop error (A message appears on a blue screen with error code information)
Solution available? : No (see Next steps)
What does this error mean? : Windows has encountered an error from which it cannot recover and needs to restart
Cause : Unknown device driver
Computer symptoms : A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: e.g. 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
Additional steps for you to take : Important: Please continue to send error reports so analysts at Microsoft can study and try to correct the problem as quickly as possible
what do I do now? I really love media center and don't want to go back to XP pro.
The question is: should I uninstall nforce 6.70 and install older 6.66 set from dfi website? anyway, it's weird that there is no designed nforce package for windows media center edition from nvidia website.
or maybe it's just the graphic driver and I have to use the older one that is designed for media center? people at guru3d say that MCE and xp pro are the same and both drivers can be used - it dosen't matter at all.
Please try to help, I want my system stable again.
Best Regards
