Sorry for the rush on this, but if anyone could give me some tips/directions to head in on this.

Basically I need a high performance system, mainly just for learning, and running lots of application, but some games aswell. I need it to be as cheap as possible.

If anyone could answer some of these questions, I would be much apreciative.

P3, Duron, Tbird? And what cooling to use with each? What Speed?

Dual or Single Chip? ( I would like to use two cpu's, but how much greater perforamce, is say like 2 p3-600's compared to 1, mainly with games, and aplications)

How much Ram, how much dif is 64 comarped to 128, and 128 to 256, etc.

What case? I need a good case, 300 W at least. Nothing too expensive but easily accesible.

Where to buy at? Anyone know of some good resellers, that are real cheap, and have a good rep for being ontime and giving you quality products.

Will consider kits if anyone knows of a site that sells them for cheap.

Thanks Again

Duron on a bang for buck basis. Forget dual (SMP) CPU's, too expensive to be cost effective for the performance gain.

Here's a link discussing some MB, RAM and cooling issues HERE from yesterday.

The Fong Kai is a nice case, check Anand's review HERE

MWave is a good place to buy stuff, Onvia if you can find what you're looking for.

Duron if you want dirt cheap. Thunderbird if you have a little more to spend and want raw performance.

Thunderbird 800 is 160$ Here
MSI K7T Pro is 111$ Here

Not bad, not bad at all...

The diffrence between 64 and 128mb of ram is great. The diffrence between 128 and 256 is significant, especially if your planning on using Win2k and/or high end apps.

2x128mb Micron PC133 - 228$ Here

I'd check the reputation of the vendors before purchasing here
