need help with name of an old movie...

there was some movie i remember watching from my childhood probably in late 80s or early 90s, and im not even sure if it was a made for tv movie or not.

i just remember it was a messed up movie and remember that some people were taken hostage and forced to drink gasoline and i'm pretty sure they ended up being killed as well, but 1 of them escaped. and for some reason i think it was based on a true story.

it's not like a war movie and these are prisoners being held hostage, and it isnt like they are trying to do a hostage negotiated. they were more like kidnapped and being tortured.

unfortunately that is all i remember ... anyone have any clue what it is? i saw a commercial just now that reminded me of the movie.

Ok thought about it some more and if by forced to drink you meant had it poured over their head and some went in their mouth then it would be very close to the resovoir dogs torture scene.

no this is like they were forced to drink it like out of the container, they weren't being doused with it.

definitely not resevoir dogs though, i know that movie. also not 3 kinds, i know that one too.

wow that might actually be it! maybe it was drano and not gasoline. it was a LONG time ago so my memory is fuzzy.

but reading about that actually does sound like it could be it. i do remember it was like downstairs somewhere, and i do remember that there was really no reason to be killing these people. like they weren't a threat or anything.

and i know i watched it on tv. i remember after it was over i cried like a little baby to my mom because it was so sad to me the way the people died.

Ugh. I just read the wiki article on the murders. WTF is wrong with the NAACP trying to get these rapist murderers off? Sometimes I think they leap at the chance to start shit without looking at all the evidence.
