need help with my new pc

i'm currently building a pc with these parts: ecs k7s5a mobo , duron 950mhz cpu, wd 60gb 5400rpm hdd. The bios on the mobo doesn't seem to
support the wd's 60gb capacity, so i have to use wd's ez-bios that's installed and loaded after the regular bios is loaded. The problem is, when i try to install
winxp off the bootcd, it bypasses the ez-bios and winxp thinks that i only have a 30gb hd. When the ez-bios is loaded with a win98 bootdisk to dos, i can see in fdisk that there is 60gb, but not in winxp's setup. i even tried booting to dos with the bootdisk and running \i386\winnt.exe, but all it does it copy the setup files to c:\ and after i reboot, it says no PT found...whatever that means...anyone have any idea what i should do? thanks!

You sure you have the CMOS configured right? It should be set to auto-detect the drive type and AUTO for mode (LBA, Normal, Large; I forget the name of the setting). I doubt the board doesn't recognize larger than 30GB drives. (I have the same board, but only a 30GB drive as my largest.)

I thought that the software you use to get around BIOS limitations was done so that it hard codes into the boot sector. Maybe not.

i set primary ide to auto, even when i press enter to have it auto define the disk size, it says 30gb... =(

nevermind, i had to set the jumper to single instead of master....spent 5 hours just for a stupid mistake =(
