I have a netcomm usb type modem, every time i need to connect to the net ,i need to pull the usb cable out then back in to get it to dial, other wise i get a message carnt connect erro 630, can some one help pls thank you

What's giving the error?

Windows (Generic Err)? Dialup Networking? The Driver?

Try your other USB port.

Could be a USB bus/driver problem, or a modem driver problem. Occasionally happens to my wife's Supramax USB modem. Easier to unplug/replug it than spend hours trying to troubleshoot the issue.

Do you have the modem speaker turned on?

Is the error can't connect to modem (ie: communicate with modem, modem not found), or can not connect to server?

Do you hear it pick up and dial then get the error?

thanks for the help, yes the modem speaker is on and the message says dail-up network cannot be connected, error 630, and no i dont get any responce from the modem, no dial tone , untill i remove the plug from the usb port, and replace it, ive tryed to change the usb port, still the same, also removed and reinstalled dial up network, but still the same , i will try the drivers, and the usb port driver to see if it works , let you know what happens thanks......Ciro
