I just recieved my kk266R from newegg.com and I have some problems with this board. I have a 1000 mhz Tbird(not AXIA)which is 100 x 10. When I tried to change it to 100 x 11, it will post 800mhz, why? ( I already updated to the latest BIOS) I decided to change the Mutiplier around but it will not boot up at (x6, x6.5, x7, x7.5, x9, x9,5), it only worked correct during (x8, x8.5, x10, x10.5). I have not tried anything higher than x15, please help me with some suggestions. I ordered two boards and I tried on both and both of them have same problem.

Please understand that I'm not an expert, but if you put that chip in 2 different boards and got the same result, I would check your chip. Make sure you properly closed those L1 bridges.

Someone else feel free to chime in, here. The "8.5x multiplier issue" wouldn't even allow him to get the 8.0, 10.0, or 10.5, right?

I can't answer specifically the question about whether the "8.5x multiplier" issue would allow or prevent 8.0, etc.

However, I do know that newegg specifies that they're shipping rev 1.2 boards, and I strongly suspect that those are boards that have the 8.5x multiplier problem fixed (the one related to resistors in the wrong place).

GaryF, I agree. I received the KK266R (v1.2) from Newegg last Friday (5/18), and it is running beautifully. I have a sucky video card, but that's not the mobo's fault. :)

Well two things.
First. I believe that the multiplier problem is only with the non Raid boards.
Second. I would think that Nelmster is correct in saying that the chip may not be unlocked correctly or not at all.
I love these boards I am getting rid of my KT7 Raid boards for these IWill KK266 R.

I am waiting on my board from Newegg and I am keeping track of the problems that are brought to the boards attention. How did you unlock your chip, pencil, conductive pen, soldering, or defrogging kit??

Thanks

Could someone clue me in on the Loctite with a needle. I am aware that Loctite is a sealant.

Thanks

They also make a defogger repair kit (for car windows) that is conductive (of course :p)
