help! i just recently bought my new system but havent installed everything yet since im still undecided what CPU fan to use.
anyway, i bought a new 19" Mag xj810 allong with it and started using it on my old pc for the meantime.
i just noticed that there seems to be a very faint fade that happens repeatedly at very fast intervals while using it. i just ignored it since it was barely noticeable but after just an hour of using my pc... i started getting nauseus. just then i realized the fading thing got worse.

my question is... what can be causing this? i have my refresh rate up to 75hz and at first this fixed the problem. later on it came back. can it be my power supply voltage? my video card? (Leadtek GeForce3 ti200)? i need your expert advise on this. thanks in advance! :)

Is it flicker? I usually run my CRT monitors at 100hz at 1024 x 768 or 85hz at very high resolutions. I'm not sure if your monitor can handle it, but I'd say 85 is about the minimum for flicker-free if you're fussy about that sort of thing.

hmm try a higher refesh rate if your video card can handle it. Maybe try it on a friend's computer that has a video card that can go to high resolutions. Weird things happening like that at 75hz either mean that your eyes are very sensitive to the image or there is something wrong with it.

I have a Mag 986F. Sometimes, there can be interference from other things that cause your monitor to do that. For example, sometimes, when people call me on my cell phone, my monitor flickers.

had it set to 85hz @ 1280 x 960 and so far so good. i also tried rerouting my ups from the avr to the wall outlet in case it was a voltage problem. Thanks for your suggestions! :D
