The worst case scenario has finally happened and I'm stuck with trying to retrieve the e-mail.
Considering the fire burned for quite a long time in the office area I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be retrieving data off those hard drives.
All I have is a tape which I should have the drive to pull the data off on Tuesday. As far as I know the tape backed up all the exchange data files. However all the tape did was store data. I can't restore windows or anything like that with it.
What I need to know is, is it feasible to do anything with the exchange files to restore the e-mail that was in it?
I'm setting up a windows 2000 server pc with exchange 5.5 on it but I have no clue what to do with the files on it. Is there someone who is an exchange expert who can walk me through this via phone, pcanywhere, or whatever?
If you require/ask to be paid to do this I can probably arrange for the company to do that.
Thanks.
