Need Help with MS Excel, maybe Access?

Is it possible to link two different files (spreadsheets) so that one can serve as a template to the other. One file will always be the template but needs to be able to read other files in indentical format to pull out data from it. Not sure if that makes sense, but I think I need access to do it.

Currently I am just copying and pasting the data (one piece) froma file, paste it another file, print, open a different file keep the the second file and replace with one line of data from new first file. There has to be an easier way to do this

Can you elaborate a bit? It is very easy to link two Excel files together. Just open both of them, go to the cell where you want to pull the data in, type = and then go to the other workbook and click the cell that has the data. Rinse and repeat.

I must be missing something here.
