Need Help with MODEM.....

I took my us robotics isa modem out of one computer running win 2k and put it in my new one. Everything is recognized fine and no irq conflicts. But when I try to use it to go online or fax, both say it doesnt detect my modem. Cant figure it out so I would appreciate all advise and suggestions.

Just so you know:
1.2 t-bird (133-10.5---This compensates for the modem frustration)
kt7a-raid
voodoo5 5500
s.b.live platinum 5.1
win 2k w/ ACPI disabled
