Well I upgraded my bios to fix a problem that was keeping my ide and serial ata drives from being detected for about 17 seconds. Well I got the update and to set my ram to 1t from 2t I have to set Read Preable Timing and Async Latency Value.
I have 1GB 2x512 PC 3200 Corsair XMS XL memory that is rated at 2-2-2-5 1t at 2.75 and a Chaintech VNF3-250 Nforce 3 board socket 754 and a A64 3200+. The defualt timings are 6ns for Read Preable Timing and 7ns Async Latency Value and they lock up at boot or when windows starts to boot.
I can't keep testing values cause I have to reset my cmos if I change my bios settings more then one time cuase I have a crappy board that used to have singing capacitors too.
