Need help with Macdrive / Drive naming in XP

I'm running windows xp, and my dvd-rw drive shows up in windows explorer as a cd drive... it works fine, but it is an annoyance. I was wondering if this would contribute to MacDrive 6 not allowing me to burn to a dvd... it only sees my cd-rw drive.
