need help with LG BD670 & streaming movies

hi, i just bought a 670 and am having trouble getting it to see MKV files i have on my computer. i can browse to the computer and open the folder i have the movies in but it keeps saying the folder is empty. i checked for firmware update and was told i have the latest one, i bought it used BTW. any ideas what is causing this? thanx

yeah, i installed windows 8 and the problem disappeared for me. i have a feeling my network setting were messed up though and a wipe and reinstall was needed

i would try a format and reinstall, or maybe try resetting the network drivers by uninstalling it and let windows reinstall everything.

these are things I did to make my BD390 and BD570 work with CIFS shares on Windows 7, 8 and server 2012.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy... From the list along the left, expand Local Policies, then select Security Options. In the Right pane, scroll down to "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level" and set it to Send LM & NTLM - Use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated

Next was follow tip from -> http://www.avsforum.com/t/1124111/b...layer-master-owners-thread/6360#post_19995263 and created a user for the BD players on my "server" as User: LGE_BDP with Password: LGE_BDP and granted it rights to my share. (the other user suggested, ROOT with no password, didn't work) <== this one was VERY IMPORTANT (since password is case sensitive, try using lower case also, I forgot which way I did it)
