Need help with LCD monitor !

My current screen is a AOC 17" it cant even go up to 1280x1024 in games screen just turns off.

I want to get a LCD but not sure which of the following:
Samsung 940BF 19IN LCD Black 2MS 1280X1024 700:1 ANALOG/DIGITAL VGA DVI-I Monitor

i really like the viewsonic VX924 19" just not sure if the other are any better then it .

Games that i play are : BF2/ WoW/ FF11/ CS 1.6 / DOD Source/ UT2K4 and thats bout it
i watch alot of avi movies but no dvds on it.

Which would be the best way to go?

wait, what do you mean the screen just turns off. that sounds more like a video card problem to me. try getting rid of the overclock, and see it works.

or, wait, maybe the LCD cant go past its native res. ok, thats probably it. ok.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Viewsonic VX924, but i dont know too much about the others.

Something about 19" LCD's that bothers me is that the native resolution is the same as 17" monitors. Meaning you have the same number of pixels, just spread out farther. Spring for a 20" for 1600X1200 or just go back down to 17. My .02

I have a Samsung 940b. Beautiful screen, no ghosting, no dead pixels. Just if you do decide to get one, pick up a dvi cable as well because one is not included.

1280x1024 LCDs are a bad choice for gamers.

which 1 do u guys suggest then? a 17" or 20"
mainly used for gaming and has to be good to view avi files

I bought a 17" hyvision off newegg for 189$ and its 8ms respone, 700:1 contrast ratio, and 1280x1024... i play BF2 in that res. to so I love it for the price. Been looking at getting another one.

I've got a 19" and a 17", the 19" is nicer to use no question.
