hello, I have a MS-1029 laptop and every time I click the shut down button, it will get stuck on the blue windows screen saying "windows is preparing to shut down" and will stay like that that until I realize the problem and manually turn it off with the button. the problem with standby in that when I click on standby or use " Fn+ f12", the computer wont even try to go to standby like nothing ever happened or it will get stuck on the blue screen that says" windows is preparing to go on standby". Restart works perfectly fine, but standby and shut down are messed up. I already tried tunexp but that didn't help. Hope you can help.

ill check
edit- just checked it is set never to go on standby because it on full performance mode. so it wont go by itself. but that doesn't explain why it hangs on the blue screen when i want it to standby or turnoff

well i just redid window like 2-3 month ago. when you mean display drivers what do you mean. ill check and see if I can find out
edit- looked around the internet found video drivers can affect standby and they said something not to use a catalyst program. does anyone know why? also why would the problems be occurring now all of a sudden

ok I had problems with the new drivers and I had to take them off and put on the ones that I knew will work. Now standby and restart dont work but shut down does. wtf my computer is crazy. I saw somewhere it could be the memory? maybe
