Need help with keeping my PC cool

I just bought a new computer and I am getting temps at 45-50 C (mainly with the cpu, which is P4 3.8GHz LGA 775), need help tips and I am thinking about getting a liquid cooling system, which one should I get for the cpu (needs to be 45$ or less).

Also how should I set up the fans (I have three 80mm fans).

Any help is welcomed and thanked in advance.

what case do you have?

generally rear fans exaust, front fans intake. side fans usually intake but try both ways. make sure cables are neat and dont obstuct airflow, especially around the cpu.

there are big differences in fans, you might want to get better ones. also look into a better cpu hsf if youre running a stock unit.

That's standard range for that P4, I wouldn't worry about it unless you get up past 60c under load. Decent liquid cooling will run you minimum $150 unless you get some of those "1 piece" setups for just the cpu. But why? Better off saving up and getting an entire WC system. But, if you want to make your air cooling more efficient, we could still help.

What's your current cooling setup? List the following:

1) Processor heatsink/fan
2) Case
3) Fan brand(s), sizes and locations in case
4) Motherboard
5) Video card and GPU heatsink/fan
6) Power supply

I have three fans one is a masscool, two came (which are led fans) with the case and does not have company marks on them, the case is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

It has one 80m fan on top, one 120mm fan at the back and one 80mm fan at the side, please let me know how I should reset the fans (which ones should be exhaust and intake), also please give me some recommendations on better fans, since the two that came with the case I can barely feel anything from them.

Im also using a p4 3.2 EE I know the 3.8 probably runs way hotter than my measley 3.2 EE but with that said...
Mine 3.2 is Over clocked to 4.0.....
Using the XP 120 heatsink with a 120mm Thermaltake Smart fan my idle is right around 30c.....
When its at the rated 3.2 my idle is in the low to mid 20`s.....

Under load at 4.0 my temps are around 38c-40c....

A new heatsink is in order if he is using the factory heatsink!!

Good Luck!!
