I have a few question for Ipod owners or anyone who knows ipods or apple products in general. I have a 10GB ipod that I bought at compusa a 2 months ago. This is a refurbished one that I got for $299, 100 cheaper than the new one. It is also the old version that apple stopped making a year ago with the scroll wheel. Anyways, it stopped working, stopped turning on, it seems like my hard drive's dead. The ipod is definitely defective. So here's my question.

Will apple fix it? This Ipod is probably over a year old, however, i have a receipt saying that I bought it 2 months ago.

if they fix it, anyone know there tech number?

I tried taking it back to compusa, and they said "sorry pal, should've bought the 2-yr extended warranty for $60, now you have to go to apple." They seemed happy when they told me that.

Am I SOL, and out $300?

Any suggestions or comments is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I doubt apple covers compusa refurbished items under warranty. Had you bought it new, you'd have no problem getting a replacement. I'd cal lthem and ask.

Call 1-800-MY-APPLE. They will fix it and it should be free of charge, as long as you have proof of purchase.

Your warranty begins at the date of purchase. You can read the iPod warranty info here.
