Need help with interrupt request in win 2k.

Hello,

I seem to be having a problem (I Think) with my interrupt requests in win 2k. I install my video/sound/Nic and all have different irq's and different interrupt request's under resource tab, then I reboot and all go to 11. I can't remember if this is a win 2k function or not where they arent really shaing them or not. When they all have different interrupt requests and I play a game it runs fine, but when I reboot and all go to 11 the game will just freeze up after 20-30min then random times after that. I was wondering if I can change these setting myself somehow, I do have administrative abilites and the box under recorces is greyed out and checked I cant change it. I have tried taking out the sound card totally and moving around the Nic. I read my mobo booklet and dont install the two cards into the slots that share with the agp slot etc. I really don't know what it could be. I play along fine for awhile then the screen will freeze up and if I have music running in the background it will keep going and only way out is to totally shut down, I cant ctrl-del-alt out for task manager. I know it is not my internet connction droping because I run on a router with my other comp up on same game and it never goes down or does the screen freeze. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

My system is:

Chip: AMD 1600XP
mobo: Abit KG7-Raid (latest bios, tried Via 4in 1 that came with it and the new ones doesnt change)(Also used amd agp patch)
Video: PNY Geforce 3 Ti-500 (tried xp drivers and ones on the manufacture disc)
Sound:Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
Nic: D-Link
Router😀-Link DI-704
Dsl connection from pacbell Internet 300 works fine

It is normal behaviour for 2k to "share" IRQ's. Generally this doesnt cause any problems.
It certainly is strange behaviour you are experiencing. I would tend to think it has more to do with the VIA and Detonator drivers you are using, but I am an Intel guy, so I couldnt say for certain.
Which XP Geforce Drivers have you tested out specifically?

this is ACPI .. the irq sharing is by design .. i think there is an acpi.info website you can for for more information on ACPI .. but you can take ur OS out of ACPI ( doesnt always work very well) , you can go into device manager and update the drive for your computer from "ACPI Compliant" to "Standard PC" .. this may solve your problem, or create new ones ... good luck ..
