Need help with ideas for backup...

Currently backing up approx 14G across ethernet takes 7-8 hrs. The computers here are not the newest and boss won't buy much new hardware. Would a USB harddrive and a USB card be any faster than trying to transfer across network? Just need some ideas as to alternatives.
Thanks in advance,

Alan McDonald

Ethernet = 100mbps (or 10mbps if it's really old)
USB = 12mbps

I recommend you get a Firewire card and hard disk. That's what I backup to and it is very fast.
