Hey all...got an Abit IC7 here, and I put an 80GB ATA100 HD on the SATA1 controller, via one of those Abit adapters...

enabled the SATA in the bios, which shows up as IDE 3 and IDE4, but it doesn't detect the drive...

also, in windows, are the SATA devices supposed to show up as Intel Ultra IDE controllers, or should it appear in the SCSI section?

Thanks for any help!

Make sure your drive jumpers are set properly as per the serillel adapter directions (either Master, Slave, or CableSelect). If it is a WD drive and the required jumper setting is Master, be sure to try it as both types of Master (either stand alone or with slave). Only WD drives present this problem particular.
. Sorry, can't help with the second part of the question.

As Zepper said make sure jumpers are set and also
1- Did you install the Silicon Image drivers

2- In XP Pro on my Gigabyte sis655 chipset,
my Silicon Image SIL 3112 SATARaid Controller shows up under SCSI and Raid Controllers.

I know you have an Intel 875P chipset but I would think it should show up the same.

Hope this helps:)
