Hi,

I need some urgent help here...
I have bought a Promise ULTRA100 IDE card and installed it on my PIIIDME.
And I want to connect my new IBM 75GXP 30GB harddrive to it. But when I do that, I cannot boot with a bootdisk or the Win2k CD!
If I connect my "old" WD ATA66 drive (only) to the promise card it boots fine with a bootdisk and with the Win2k CD!

To explain alittle bit further what happens when I boot with the IBM disk on the Promise card, the post goes fine. It is after "Boot record on floppy...OK" it "hangs". Nothing more happens! When I try to boot with the CD, it says "Boot record on CD...OK" and then the screen turns black and nothing more happens, the CD spinns down! :(

And as I said above, when I have the WD disk connected or no disk at all connected to the promise card, it boots fine with disk or CD!

Please, I need help quick! Anyone have a suggestion?

Best regards

What's on all your IDE (and SCSI, if you have one) controllers? Are you, perhaps, running out of drive letters, and your cdrom is lonely?

I have tried with all the other units (one CD-RW, one DVD and the WD disk) unpluged! It doesnt help...
I should add that the IBM disk do work...I mean, I have successfully booted with disk or CD when the IBM disk is connected to the onboard (motherboard) IDE. And the Promise card detects the IBM disk just fine...

I have tried to change jumpers in all possible configs on the IBM disk, but it doesnt seem to help...
