Need help with Honeywell wifi thermostat install

I hooked it up but it didnt power on so I will try again. I snapped these two pics before I started so I could see where the wires originally went. I also will be using a Venstar Addawire to have the C wire that I will need

Was your previous t stat powered without a battery? R and C should give you power, but if doesn't the 24v transformer in your furnace could be faulty (though the other functions probably wouldn't work).

You already answered your own question I believe. You need to have the C wire to power it up, so if you don't have it hooked up you won't get power.
