I am in the prison part where you have 3 torrents that you have to setup and there are soldiers coming from all directions. I've tried this at least 7 times with no luck. I have tried to set the torrents up at different locations with no luck. Either the soldiers come up and smack them over or they toss a grenade at them. I havent had a problem with the game at all untill this. I don't want to cheat so I figured I would ask first. If I still have no luck I will cheat.

I think it has alot to do with how they are setup. Also when I go to pick them up with my gravity gun it doesnt wast to set them upright sometimes for some reason.

Any tips/suggestions?

I'm having this same problem. I even went all the way back to alex and grabbed the turret guns from earlier. I am not going to cheat but this is just pissing me off.

yeah really. If it wasnt for them throwing grenades it would be much easier. Heck I tried setting the game on easy and still can't do it. I look at that link/video.

Took me a few times but it was pretty easy. There are a lot of ways to do it.

My way:

Go into the room with the ammo crate. Stack the boxes and barrels so they completely block one exit. Then grab the three turrets and set them up right beside each other in the other doorway. The soldiers almost never make it close enough to knock the turrets over, and you can crouch behind the ammo crate to reload. Pop up, waste a clip, crouch, reload... I had no problems.

The smartest way I've heard of but have not yet tried is to go up on the ledge and hide there with the turrets right in front of you.

Yeah I found the best way to do it is to stack up boxes and barrels to block one exit, and it is MUCH easier to defend the other 3 with one blocked. I just stood by my turrets for the couple guys that did get through to knock them down.

I used the same tactic in the video. Barely lost any health. FINALLY

Yes, I found this to be the toughest part of the game. The idea above sounds great.
What I resorted to, but was still difficult, was to camp in one of the bays you take the turret out of. This worded on medium difficulty but not on hard.

I tried that a couple times before posting here with no luck.

Got it first time using that method. Prob a little luck though because I had only 20 some energy left.

I did it like this. I brought the first two turrets from the control room over that helped a lot. I then brought the now 5 turrets over to the teleport chamber.

Wicked.
