I could use some advice on this one.
I have done a new build with the following:
MSI k9A2 Platinum mobo
AMD Phenom 9750
2 Gigs RAM
XFS GeForce 8600 GT graphics card
I cannot seem to make the WinTV HVR 1800 Media Center card to work. I am running XP Home Edition but according to Hauppauge that is ok if I run the WinTV v6 application. The card seems to be seated correctly but I'm not sure if my system has even found it.
Installation of the drives was ok but when I tried to install WinTV it said no components need to be installed so click cancel. Then on top of that it said the install was complete yet it did not install as it did not go through the normal sequence a program does when installing (i.e. choosing a directory, seeing a progress bar, etc). So I downloaded the software from their website and that seemed to install ok. When I do a scan on channels it doesn't find anything. Nor does the radio pick anything up. In fact the radio just loops and loops trying to find a channel and once in a while will stop somewhere and just give me static through the speakers.
Sandra says the device on the port is Haupauge ??? (8880) - whatever that means. Wish the card would fit in my old pc but I can't even try that route.
Any suggestions would be great
Thanks
