i just got a copy of gameshark cdx for dreamcast recently. i just got the cd and not the little hardware thingy (which some ppl said is just a regular vmu with "updated" codes)
anyways, i used the GS to store the code for playing japanese import on my regular vmu, and then used that code to load the game. after a few tries, it finally load the game and i could play.
however, the second time i tried it, it's not working at all. so i load cdx, and then select the code, and put my japanese game in the console, and tries to load the game again. this time, instead of loading, it will either: (1). reset the console and go back to the main menu (with that 4 little icons), or (2). tries to load the game and finally hangs (the disc stop spinning) after a few minutes.
so, my question is, does a particular code only work once? or is there a different step that one have to take to load japanese game from cdx? anybody can step me through the process correctly? or maybe let me know the GS code for playing import (assuming i got it wrong).... and no, the instruction from gameshark webpage didn't work for me
and just to make sure i don't perform "illegal operation" (with asking how to play backup game), i was simply trying to load my original Sakura Taisen 3 game (got the limited version for $100+ and don't feel like leaving it collecting dust). i only played it once (when the first time successfully loading the game -- see above).
i know this method may be used towards evil ... if so, please don't blame me. instead, just lock or delete my post and let things go by...
