Need help with game server and network

I have been running a game server on one IP address and my regular computer on another address with a hub between my computers and the cable modem with success.

But now I want to connect the cable modem directly to my game server (NIC card #1), and then use ICS and file and print sharing to connect the hub to a second NIC card on the game server--so I can have two other computers connected to the hub. When I set all computers up in this second configuration, I am able to get all the computers to file share, print share, and share the internet connection with ICS. HOWEVER, the game server no longer accepts connections to the game from outside my LAN. The game itself reports that it may be behind a firewall and settings may need to be changed to allow outside connections.

At first I thought that this was due to some Windows 2000 issues, so I set the game server to run Win98SE instead and the same thing happened.

It seems that putting a second network card in the game server and/or setting the second network card to share files and printers and the internet connection causes some internal security feature in both windows 2000 and Win98SE that I do not know how to adjust.

Can someone offer any suggestions?

More info.
What game are you trying to server?
The machine you want to run it from is the gateway or the client?

Trying to run NASCAR Racing 4

The Computer that is running the game as a dedicated server is the computer that is directly connected to the cable modem. This computer is then connected to a hub from a second NIC card to share the internet and printer and files with two clients. I guess that would make the game server the gateway for my network.

I was just told that there is a patch for the program. I am going to try intalling that and see if it addresses the probel I am having. If not it must be some sort of network security that I accidentally enabled.

I tried the game patch and it did not correct my problem. It must be ICS and/or the file sharing.
