Need help with FX5900

Hey guys, I just built a new system consisting of Asus P4P800 Deluxe, 2.8C, Buffalo 256x2 PC3200 Ram, and a BFG 5900 128MB Card.

I ran 3DMark2001 and got a low score of 11480.

What killed me was the "NATURE" test where I got 30fps. (Horrible)

I'm pretty sure my Antec 350TrueBlue has enough power for the computer. I called BFGTech and they said that since my card was sharing an IRQ 16 with my two usb ports, it would slow it down and that I had to give it its own IRQ.

Does anybody think this is the reason why my benchmarks suck? I'm really confused right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Power supplies and IRQ sharing have nothing to do with benchmarks. Assuming this is XP, did you load the latest video and chipset drivers for your pc, if so, what version? Did you have anti-aliasing turned on?

As for your score, it is right in line with some other people with 5900's, not the top, but you haven't done any tweaking yet, have you? What speed is your fsb/mem set to?

My fsb is at default 200. I'm just confused because 11480 is quite low for a 2.8 + FX5900. Getting 30 fps on the Nature test compared to 80 from other people is just weird. I dont know, it's irking me quite a bit.

edit: Yes I'm using the latest drivers

Like stated earliier IRQ's have nothing to do with benchmarking. Plz list what drivers you are using. Also you said latest drivers but are you using BFG's drivers or do you actually go to nvidias site and get theirs. Again plz list drivers.
Good Luck

Also, what chipset drivers are you using? Did you have everything turned off in msconfig before testing? Have you tweaked your memory settings?

If there seems to be some lags in the Nature part of 3Dmark causing the FPS drops, try this:

Go to your network adapter's properties, under the advanced tab select the connection type, if it's "Auto sense", change it to the proper setting. This fixed up some "lag" issues with some of my games, but that's just me.

Do some tweaking to your system! Or reformat and setup the system once again, but with new updated softwares! If it still show signs of low scoring... check up on your hardware.
