I've been looking to get a satellite system for my home and wanted some input from you guys.

I would like to purchase an HD receiver so that I may watch my programming at 1080p resolution however when shopping for receivers I ran into a little problem.

I was looking in the market for Viewsats as I have heard good things about them.

link

That is the 9000HD model which is about $450. My concern is that I have read that these receivers are HD ready however I must purchase an 8psk chip link to get true 1080p.

Can someone please explain how this works? Or is anyone using FTA at 1080p without any external modules?

Any help is appreciated.

That site is ok, however in order to view the forums you have to pay (I am getting constant server busy and reserved for VIP members message)

I would much rather get advice from someone who has this setup going.

you need 8psk adapter to get HD to work... you can read about what it does on wikipedia.

if you get a sonicview, same thing.

your best bet would be to buy a fta receiver with everything pre-installed
