Need help with fax!

I own a Panasonic KX-FPC161 fax machine, and am having trouble getting it to work. I have one line and two numbers. One is for voice, the other for fax. So if someone calls either number, my fax machine rings. What i want it to do is autoanswer if its the fax line calling, and not answer at all if its the phone line. sS far, it either always answers or always not. I've tried all sorts of things, but i can't find the manual, so i'm out of luck. A little help please?

One line with two number means you have a service called "distinctive ring". The fax machine needs to be "taught" what the distinctive ring is (usually a quick ring-ring every 5 to 6 seconds as opposed to a single ring every 6 seconds).

Look through the menus for any mention of "distinctive ring" or "unique ring".

If you can't find anything you're going to have to locate the manual. You might be able to get a pdf of the manual from

Panasonic support

Good Luck!!!

That's a great link, thanks a lot! I called tech support and the idiots told me i couldn't download Panasonic manuals off the net, so i didn't even bother looking through the site. I ended up ordering a separate line though. But i'll still need the manual.
