Heres one I've not heard of before.

I've just set up my new HP Office Jet K80 all-in-one for my home office. I'm using WinXP and have updated the HP software. Everything is working great except for this one problem in faxing.

I can send and receive faxes to everywhere else except to our main office. Not sure of the make and models of the Fax Machines there, but I know they cost big bucks..there are two of them and one picks up when the other is busy.

Everytime I try to send a fax I receive a communication error which is basically telling me that the receiver has disconnected midstream. I tried sending a fax to our office on my brother's HP OfficeJet R80 and no problem.

I've tried turning off 'error control' on my K80 but still no luck. Can anyone explain why I have no problem faxing to any other number except to the main office & their machines..........when they are sending and receiving faxes successfully all day? I thought of line noise on my line, but why would other fax machines be able to accept the transmission? Very confused :-(. Any thoughts on what else I could try?

I don't know much about fax machines but, it sounds like either your HP fax is sending data that the big fax machines can't interpret or the big fax machines require some special setting or data from the sender. I don't know, strange behavior.
