Need Help with Exporting OE6 email

I keep trying to export my messages so they can be backed up on a different drive, and every time, OE 6 says the export failed because "There was an error initializing MAPI." What does this mean and how can it be fixed? I am using Windows 2000 and have all the latest updates and patches.

Hello "NewSilkTurtle"

You can try this :

Open OE6 , go to Tools > Options > Maintenence tab > Store Folder

Highlight that link , do a search for it , or just manually go to that link.
Take that whole Outlook Express folder that in there,copy it.
This will be your backup.

When you want to import it, do the following :

Open OE , File > Import > Messages , choose Microsoft Outlook Express 5 ,then Import mail from an OE6 store directory

Good to go !!!

Yes, thank you, I have done this before and it works, but it takes more time that way, and since you are supposed to be able to export messages directly to a store folder (otherwise why is that option presented?), I just hoped I might be able to find out why I cannot do it.
